Hand Bound Journal with Original Wet Cyanotype Print Covers …Osteospermum with Jade Green Dye … Because Your Words Are Worth It

The covers for this A5 hand bound journal were made using original wet cyanotype prints. The front cover was created using Osteospermum from my garden; it also has a dash of Jade Green dye and a pinch of salt. The back cover features wild Umbelliferae flowers from the hedgerows around my beautiful Wiltshire home. I used a little green ink and salt in the wet cyanotype process.

I used Hahnemuhle Buggra Bütten paper to create the front cover print and Indian Cotton Rag paper to create the back cover print.

The inside covers are made using handmade dark turquoise Nepalese Lokta paper. The book is stitched together with turquoise waxed Irish Linen thread.

I used Coptic stitching to bind the book together. Coptic binding means that the book will lie completely flat when opened, which makes it perfect for journaling or sketching.

What is a journal?
It’s your story, your history, your present moment.
It’s a gateway into who you really are and how you really feel.
It’s a place to play and a place to get down to some serious work.
Keeping a journal, whether you do it every day, once a week, or only in moments of strong emotions, (good or bad), can be so many of these things, and so much more. Keeping a journal is meditation, it’s a place where you can open up a dialogue with your inner self, or your inner child, or your inner crazy-person-who-just-needs-to-rant!

All of the cartridge paper for the pages is recycled, mostly from old paper cups, and it’s all hand torn. The grey-board used for the covers is also, wherever possible, made from recycled materials.

This book is unique and made entirely by hand.

Your book will be wrapped and sent Royal Mail 2nd Class signed for (unless you request differently)
